On the morning of May 22, at the 2019 China Vinegar and Seasoning Wine Industry Innovation and Development Forum held in Taiyuan, Luo Jianchun, president of the Qingxu Vinegar Industry Association and chairman of Zilin Vinegar Industry, announced that to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Qingxu Vinegar Industry Association will collect 700,000 bottles of aged vinegar and donate them to the poor and elderly in Shanxi's impoverished areas. The donation will be made through the civil affairs department.

"Since ancient times, vinegar brewing has been counted in Shanxi, and its roots can be traced back to Qingxu." Qingxu is the authentic birthplace of Shanxi aged vinegar and the largest vinegar production base in China. In recent years, Qingxu County has always regarded the aged vinegar industry as an important path for the development of non-coal industries, and has cultivated and developed it as a strategic emerging pillar industry for the entire county, Taiyuan City, and even the entire province. It has put forward the "double hundred" strategic goal of achieving a vinegar production capacity of 1 million tons and an annual industrial output value of 10 billion yuan. In particular, since last year, based on its locational advantages and resource endowments, it has taken the development of the "big health" industry market as a new economic growth point for the vinegar industry, cultivated the aged vinegar industry, created the regional public brand "Qingfeng Xulai, Wucu Buzai", and actively planned the construction of a "Vinegar Capital Town" with an investment of 5.5 billion yuan and an area of nearly 10 square kilometers, integrating scientific research and development, results transformation, exhibition and sales, medical health, leisure and elderly care, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

To date, Qingxu County has 45 vinegar production enterprises with food production licenses, accounting for 35% of the province and 70% of Taiyuan City. It has formed a vinegar industry cluster led by Zilin and Shuita, built two national 4A-level tourist attractions: Zilin Vinegar Industrial Park and Baoyuan Old Vinegar Workshop, and established three enterprise technology centers recognized by the province: Donghu, Shuita, and Zilin. Zilin Vinegar Industry has also joined forces with numerous scientific research institutions to establish the Shanxi Vinegar Engineering Technology Research Center and the National Sorghum Processing Technology Research Center. It has cultivated three nationally renowned trademarks: "Donghu", "Shuita", and "Zilin", 14 famous Shanxi trademarks, and 5 provincial famous brands. The annual vinegar production scale has reached 700,000 tons, accounting for more than 80% of the province and 20% of the country, ranking first in the country in terms of regional vinegar production scale. Products are sold throughout more than 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, and are also exported to Australia, Canada, the United States, Japan, South Korea and other countries. The annual industrial output value has reached 6.5 billion yuan.

The forum, jointly hosted by the Qingxu County People's Government and the China Condiment Association, is themed "Innovation for Change, Win-Win Development", and has positive significance for promoting the innovation and healthy development of China's vinegar and seasoning wine industry. At the forum, experts, scholars, and representatives of enterprise scientific and technological personnel shared the latest scientific and technological innovation achievements, and vinegar and seasoning wine production enterprises conducted communication and exchanges. Heads and executives from vinegar and seasoning wine enterprises across the country, production technology and academic research experts and scholars, heads of equipment, packaging and logistics enterprises, raw material suppliers, and investors attended the forum.
